Scottie Scheffler, the World's No. 1 Golfer, Arrested in Louisville

Scottie Scheffler, the world's top-ranked golfer, was arrested and charged with a felony after allegedly assaulting an officer in Louisville, Kentucky, on Friday morning. Scheffler was on his way to the PGA Championship, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday at Valhalla Golf Club, when the incident occurred.

According to police, Scheffler was involved in a verbal altercation with an officer after being pulled over for a traffic violation. The altercation reportedly escalated, and Scheffler allegedly pushed the officer. Scheffler was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, a Class D felony.

Scheffler was released from jail on Friday afternoon after posting a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 16th.

The PGA of America has released a statement saying that it is "aware of the situation involving Scottie Scheffler and is gathering information." The PGA Championship is scheduled to begin on Thursday, and it is unclear if Scheffler will be able to participate.
